Batroun offers a blend of rich history, beautiful landscapes, and vibrant culture. Here's how you can spend a day in Batroun:



1. Breakfast and morning walk :

After breakfast at the Hangloose café http://www.livehangloose.com , park your car at the entrance to the old souk of Batroun. You can also get there by bike (rental available right next to the café).

Explore the charming old market with its narrow alleys, traditional Lebanese architecture, and bustling atmosphere. Enjoy its old streets and its beautiful churches.

St. Stephan's Cathedral, explore this historical cathedral, known for its beautiful architecture and serene atmosphere. Batroun’s fishermen’s old port where you can spot the yellow house, Lebanese Diaspora village, there's Church of our Lady of the sea, the oldest church of Batroun with a litteraly breathtaking view on the Phoenician wall. Then walk through the fishermen’s neighborhood Hay el baher to the public beach Bahsa.

During your walk or if you missed breakfast you can stop at Hilmi's House of Lemonade to taste the local lemonade, one of Batroun's specialties. For those with a sweet tooth, Koko’s bakery brioche is also an option. You can also have a coffee break at Nopal eatery next to the diaspora village.


2. Try Fresh Seafood for lunch:

Indulge in delicious seafood dishes at one of the many seaside restaurants in Batroun such as Chez Maguy, or Bistr’eau, there's Ray’s beach bar or further Jammal Restaurant (booking is mandatory at Jammal).


Don't miss out on the local specialty, freshly caught fish grilled to perfection. For a lower budget though very authentic experience, try the seafood sandwich at Georges Maalouf Kitchen and try the squid sandwich with it’s ink it's a must have.
